About

I'm a dedicated snowboarder, writer, and social entrepreneur. I teach snowboarding because it's what I love and spreading that joy to other people is one of the most rewarding feelings that I've ever felt. I like riding freestyle but my main focus is to not have one. It's important to see the WHOLE mountain, not just one side of it. There are so many different ways to ride and enjoy a snowboard. Just choosing one focus is like eating the same meal for the rest of your life. Variety is what makes it exciting, right? So if you come to me to learn freestyle, bumps, trees, or just the first time basics you will inevitably learn a wide range of skills that will benefit you all over the mountain. Turning, spinning, grinding, sliding, jumping, and stopping are all connected maneuvers that can be used on any type of terrain. Take a lesson from me and I will do my best to present the world of snowboarding as a continuous cycle of learning and fun!

Super positive and encouraging...exactly what I needed after taking a six year hiatus from snowboarding!

Korey was an excellent instructor for a first time snowboarder. He was so patient with myself and my friend throughout our lesson. He kept a positive attitude and was very encouraging. He made it such a fun first experience that I plan to take more lessons with him again!

My 7 yo headed to the mountain for a day of fun with Shriner's Children'ts Hospital. Since her volunteer was able to make it, she was signed up to learn some snowboarding basics with Korey ! It was her first time ever, and she had a BLAST ! Korey had this novice turning tricks within 2 hours and the day could not have gone better ! She is IN LOVE with snowboarding (and possibly quite even, Korey) ! We would def recommend Korey for his knowledge, teaching style and can-do attitude ! He is just the right mixture of teacher and FUN ! Don't miss out on this gem !

My friends and I went up to the mountain this last weekend, with snowboarding on the agenda. We didn't know what to expect and I think we were all a bit nervous, but we really lucked out getting Korey as our instructor. He did such a great job with making us all feel comfortable, he had an incredibly positive and supportive attitude, and he was SO patient with those of us who didn't pick things up as quickly. :) Next time we go up, we will absolutely request a lesson with Korey! A great instructor makes for a great day on the mountain.

I had never been involved with any type of snow/ice activity. After having a 2 hour lesson with Korey I was not only confident on the mountain but a fairly competent rider as well. He was patient and his instruction was clear and concise but he also knew how to differentiate it for everyone in our group. He made sure everyone felt comfortable enough to try things without being afraid of failing or embarrassment. He was full of enthusiasm and praise and I definitely plan on returning for more instruction from Korey. And would recommend him as an instructor to any student regardless of if you are a beginner or looking to improve your repertoire of snowboarding knowledge. *Front, Back, Fist, Fade*

I am trying to get back into snowboarding (I was a beginner then and still am) after taking 12 years off.... Korey gave me a gentle reintroduction and was very patient with my issues with my boots. I learned SO much in my 2 hour lesson. His attitude was so positive and he was so patient- nothing but smiles! I have been back to practice what he has taught me and have already scheduled another lesson. Thank you so much, Korey! :)

I've only had 2 lessons with Korey and I still hope to have more. Korey is a great person and instructor. After those two lessons with him I knew so much more about the sport than I already knew. He taught me grabs, nose press, board press, on the snow 360 and if I couldn't get it on my first try he would be patient and explain how to do it in an easy way to understand. He makes riding comfortable and helped me expand my range of tricks I can do. I've been riding for 8 years and Korey is definitely an instructor I will remember.

Korey was so patient but very effective. After only an hour with him as an instructor, I was more confident than I've ever been on the mountain. He is a lovely person to boot.
