About
OK, I have a pretty out-of-the-ordinary background in skiing - First, I learned indoors on a moving carpet, at age 24! So I came to teaching skiing with fresh eyes and lots of empathy for learners. I got hooked, and this led to becoming Founder and Ski School Director, PSIA Ski Training Center, a Member School of PSIA-Rocky Mountain in the 1980’s, where I developed accelerated learn to ski, guaranteed parallel, Special Olympics and Ski Club race training programs, and an instructor training program with Copper Mountain Ski School.
In the early 90’s I created a Peak Performance on Purpose workshop offered in Switzerland, Spain & Canada, and served as a Mental and Emotional Strategies Coach for athletes in five sports. So I pay a lot of attention to the mental and emotional elements involved in developing real proficiency in skiing, and that really speeds up the process and deepens confidence as well as competence.
I teach age ten thru seniors, tele and alpine, first timers thru instructors. Thanks to the modern NTN telemark gear, I have discovered (and you can too) the joy and added freedom of blending both forms of skiing on the same gear. Try it, you’ll love it!
