About

  • My specialty is helping adult skiers ski better with less physical effort by making you more efficient.  Its simple if you learn to ski so your bones support your weight your muscles will be less tired.  This way you can enjoy your weekend or vacation more, ski longer into the day, and explore more of the mountain.  My focus is on intermediates and advanced skiers on all terrian but I also teach novices.  I believe in spending the time I’m with clients skiing not just standing on the side of the trail talking so I try to keep things moving and you having fun.  I have 28 years’ experience as an instructor, instructor trainer and children’s ski coach at Whiteface and before that Killington.
  • For 10 years I coached a season long program for advanced and expert kids to rip on all Whiteface has to offer including my own son who is now a top racer in his teens.  If your 7 year old  to teenage ripper needs to get more out of their skiing and have tons of fun I’m stoked to ski with them.
  • I have a background in ski gear having spent 20 years as a pro rep for a ski and boot manufacturer so I love talking about gear on the lift and I am an experienced boot fitter and ski tuner.  I proudly ski on Volkl Marker and Dalbello.
  • I teach skiing for the love of the sport and for fun.  I have an MBA and a career as a professional so my availability tends to be just on the weekends and major holiday periods.
  • I also have written many articles on ski instruction for NYskiblog.com  You can check out an index of my writing about skiing at www.nyskiblog.com/author/coachz/  which will give you a feel about how I teach and ski.

Dave is a terrific instructor. He is friendly and effective in his technique. I've seen him relate to little kids, teenagers and adults - he has a way of effectively flexing his teaching style for each age group and level. Each of my children went into racing programs and I credit Dave with keeping them engaged and fostering their confidence as confident and advanced skiers they are today
