About

I've been skiing for over 30 years, and am grateful that for my first day on the slopes, my aunt scheduled me for a private lesson; it got me off to a great start.

I started teaching 12 years ago, and while my Coast Guard career moved me around and made it hard to teach continuously, it did give me the chance to teach at a few different ski schools. That has allowed me to work on a wide variety of terrain and to learn from numerous different instructors. I believe that range of experience serves me well teaching in the varying conditions Vermont offers up.

Now retired from the Coast Guard, I have settled in Vermont and am excited to call Bolton Valley my home mountain.  When I'm not teaching, you might find me improving my turns on the fresh corduroy or challenging myself in the untracked powder in the trees. If not on the slopes, you can find me out on (or in) Lake Champlain testing the next generation of unmanned marine systems or up on Camels Hump Mountain hanging out with my wife and dogs.
