About

My passion for the skiing lifestyle began, in Colorado, on Christmas day, 1969.  My family would hike for our vertical or Dad would pull us behind the snowmobile.  Our local schools had a ski club where we could take the bus to Aspen, Sunlight, Steamboat or Powderhorn, every weekend during the winter.  While in High School, my father would make sure my homework was caught up and let me skip school for a day so we could go skiing together.   Then in 1989 I met Joe Royer, owner of Ruby Mountain Heli-Ski, and started working as a Host/ Snow Cat operator and chauffeur.  This experience started what has now been 27 years of working in the ski industry.  After an injury took me out of the Heli-Ski job, I got my EMT cert. and bridged that to the National Ski Patrol's Outdoor Emergency Care where I then became certified to teach the O.E.C..  That experience led me to work for the National Science Foundation in their Antarctic Program. There I worked on and was the Trauma Team Leader at the Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica.  While at the South Pole I was unable to fulfill my refresher requirements for the OEC and subsequently lost that certification.  It was then that I answered an ad for ski instructors wanted at Snowmass/Aspen.  After 10 years of teaching skiing in Aspen, most of my clients started with me as 4 year old "never evers" and have grown into the whole family learning experience.
When I'm not skiing, I like to work on my hobby farm, ride my horse, hunt elk or vacation in South America, where I can practice my Spanish, learn to surf and fish.  Come ski with me and I'll show you things you never believed you could achieve.  You will experience the best skiing of your life.
Please be sure to make your reservations early.  2016/17 dates are filling up fast.
