About

My name is Abby Parker and I have been on snow since the age of 3 and a half! I grew up skiing the  mountains of Massachusetts, primarily Wachusett Mountain. Inspired by the TV show "Rocket Power", I took my first snowboard lesson at age 9 on vacation at Stowe Resort, in Vermont. After a few years of trying to both ski and snowboard, my dad let his little skier turn into a full-on snowboarder, and I've been in love with the sport ever since. At age 12 I hit my first ever rail, and couldn't shake the amazing feeling of being in the terrain park. While in high school, I joined Wachusett's freestyle team and competed in USASA in boardercross and slopestyle. In the summer of 2009, I was fortunate enough to experience summer riding at Windell's in Oregon, back when it was open to snowboarders as well as skiers. I had an amazing time learning from riders from all around the country and took those skills back to the east coast.

I attended the University of Vermont from 2011-2015, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Public Communication and a minor in French. While at UVM, I was a member of the freestyle snowboard team (and even put on skis a time or two!) I also was able to learn how to snowboard in the glades, as I hadn't had much experience in the small mountain woods of Massachusetts.

I'm honored and thrilled to be teaching snowboarding at Bolton Valley. Snowboarding has taught me so much in terms of goal-setting, leaving my comfort zone, and accomplishing feats I never thought possible. I can't wait to pass these skills on, and see the familiar look of pure joy on the faces of those I teach!
